Payne: Shut up, Levin argued
Posted by hpayne on March 12, 2012
Senator Carl Levin and his fellow senators haven’t passed a budget in three years. No wonder. Michigan’s senior senator is tending to more important things – like trying to boot Rush Limbaugh off Armed Services Radio for the talk show host’s infamous derogatory comments about a Georgetown student activist – comments that Limbaugh has since apologized for.
But apologies aren’t enough for Levin. El Rushbo must be shut up.
“I would hope the people that run it (Armed Forces Network) see just how offensive this is and drop it,” Levin old CNN in joining former Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm in the anti- Limbaugh fatwa.
The demand puts Levin & Co. to the left of even Bill Maher, the Democrats’ favorite misogynist comedian. Maher – unapologetic and no doubt spooked about using similar language about female Republican candidates – asked for tolerance last week.
“Hate to defend #Rush Limbaugh but he apologized, liberals looking bad not accepting. Also hate intimidation by sponsor pullout,” Maher tweeted.
The MSM has tried to gate-keep news that the Left has set the standard of coarse language towards women, But in the alternative media age, the news is getting out. Maher’s fears were realized this week as Fox News exposed comic Louis C.K. – another in a long line of lefties who have made an art of disparaging righty women – who subsequently withdrew from the Radio and Television Correspondent’s Dinner.
The RTCA Dinner is an MSM institution and sometimes attended by Obama. Wouldn’t want to make the boss uncomfortable.
