Exiting the state park into Tucson\u2019s suburbs, I engaged hands-free driving and let my leather-lathered chariot drive me through thickening weekday traffic.<\/p>\n \u201cHey, Gemini, change driver temperature to 70 degrees,\u201d I barked to the 16-inch digital display.<\/p>\n Was I driving a Mercedes? Cadillac? Tesla Model S?<\/p>\n Nope. I was behind the wheel of the 2027 Chevy Silverado 1500 truck, the new standard for American luxury.<\/p>\n With up to 60 inches of digital displays in front, tasteful interior materials, and more rear-seat room than a limousine, pickup trucks like Silverado have been slowly encroaching on the traditional luxury market for years.<\/p>\n
