Based on an all-new battery skateboard and electronics \u201cAtlantis\u201d architecture, the REV joins the Ford F-150 Lightning and Chevy Silverado EV as the first electric pickups from Motown. And in true warrior tradition, Ram wasted no time advertising its superiority to competitors. Ram sees its market in local construction bosses (batteries won\u2019t go far towing 14k lbs) and they don\u2019t want to show up at the worksite in a steed that shames their workers\u2019 trucks.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\"><strong>Kia EV9.<\/strong>\u00a0Kia doesn\u2019t make pickups, but they electrified the next biggest thing: a three-row SUV. The EV9 joins three-row e-SUVs from Mercedes-Benz, Rivian, and Tesla but at likely (when we see the price later this year) half the sticker. But Kia figures you\u2019re stopping every two hours for 20 minutes to change-diapers\/go-to-the-loo\/get-food anyway.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\"><strong>Chevy Corvette E-Ray.<\/strong>\u00a0Shown for the first time at an auto show, E-Ray fits the e-trend. But it uses its battery for raw, 655-horsepower performance. This year there\u2019s a new lion king and it\u2019s called Dark Horse. With its brooding front grille, black hood, and muscular haunches, Mustang\u2019s latest performance model looks every bit the 500-horspower track slayer that its spec sheet advertises.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"gnt_em gnt_em_img\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"gnt_em_img_i\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gannett-cdn.com\/presto\/2023\/04\/06\/PDTN\/962de858-2a3b-4545-9014-dc99c43783b1-NYCSHow-10best_mustang-dark-horse.jpg?width=660&amp;height=372&amp;fit=crop&amp;format=pjpg&amp;auto=webp\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.gannett-cdn.com\/presto\/2023\/04\/06\/PDTN\/962de858-2a3b-4545-9014-dc99c43783b1-NYCSHow-10best_mustang-dark-horse.jpg?width=1320&amp;height=744&amp;fit=crop&amp;format=pjpg&amp;auto=webp 2x\" alt=\"2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse\" data-g-r=\"lazy\" \/><\/p>\n<div class=\"gnt_em_img_ccw gnt_em_img_ccw__cap gnt_em_img_ccw__crd\" data-c-caption=\"2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse\" data-c-credit=\"Henry Payne, The Detroit News\"><\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Be sure and duck inside, though, where the Mustang sports a hi-tech, horizontal, integrated instrument-and-infotainment display to match the Kia EV9.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\"><strong>Dodge Charger Daytona SRT Banshee.<\/strong>\u00a0Mustang is the last Detroit muscle car standing as government\u2019s climate crusade has made it harder to build V8-powered hellions. Camaro is bowing out of the market as is Dodge\u2019s best-selling Challenger and Charger. Its R-wing front end uses aero technology inspired by the 1960s, NASCAR-winning Daytona.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\"><strong>VW ID.Buzz.<\/strong>\u00a0Another \u201860s throwback, ID.Buzz updates the microbus reborn for the EV age. Its design is nicely evolved \u2014 as are its safety features as the ol\u2019 microbus was a front-end collision disaster waiting to happen. It\u2019s Dodge\u2019s first compact SUV since the 2012 Caliber. How nuts are customers for off-roading? The V10-powered Lambo Sterrato \u2014 found in NYIAS\u2019s signature exotics cars pen \u2014 follows the Porsche 911 Dakar as an off-road capable production supercar. With all-wheel-drive, all-terrain tires, 1.7-inch suspension lift, underbody protection, Subaru-like fender cladding, and nose-mounted rally lights, the 610-horsepower Sterrato is ready for Baja.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"gnt_em gnt_em_img\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"gnt_em_img_i\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gannett-cdn.com\/presto\/2023\/04\/06\/PDTN\/69652f78-a88d-4ed1-a13b-7a1c763abda0-NYCSHow-10best_lambo-sterrato.jpg?width=660&amp;height=372&amp;fit=crop&amp;format=pjpg&amp;auto=webp\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.gannett-cdn.com\/presto\/2023\/04\/06\/PDTN\/69652f78-a88d-4ed1-a13b-7a1c763abda0-NYCSHow-10best_lambo-sterrato.jpg?width=1320&amp;height=744&amp;fit=crop&amp;format=pjpg&amp;auto=webp 2x\" alt=\"Lamborghini Huracan Surrato\" data-g-r=\"lazy\" \/><\/p>\n<div class=\"gnt_em_img_ccw gnt_em_img_ccw__cap gnt_em_img_ccw__crd\" data-c-caption=\"Lamborghini Huracan Surrato\" data-c-credit=\"Henry Payne, The Detroit News\"><\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\"><strong>Hyundai Kona.<\/strong>\u00a0If Hyundai Motor Group\u2019s Kia brand is determined to bring EVs to three-row SUVs, then the Kona offers an electric in the subcompact SUV segment. Though its drivetrains are largely unchanged from the last gen, the EV gains range (to 260 miles) and the N performance model offers a frisky, 1.6-liter turbo. All our trim favorites are back from the go-anywhere-Rubicon to the pedal-to-the-metal 392. The interior gains a big, 12-inch screen (natch) and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
