{"id":30679,"date":"2023-03-23T16:58:38","date_gmt":"2023-03-23T20:58:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/henrypayne.com\/?p=30679"},"modified":"2023-03-23T16:58:38","modified_gmt":"2023-03-23T20:58:38","slug":"go-like-hell-dodge-unleashes-loaded-hornet-r-t-glh-concept","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/henrypayne.com\/index.php\/2023\/03\/go-like-hell-dodge-unleashes-loaded-hornet-r-t-glh-concept","title":{"rendered":"Go Like Hell: Dodge unleashes loaded Hornet R\/T GLH Concept"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\"><em>Asheville, North Carolina<\/em>\u00a0\u2014 The Dodge Challenger and Charger are being put out to pasture, but their muscle car DNA lives on.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">With half the cylinders.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Dodge on Wednesday unveiled a lower, louder, and bolder R\/T GLH Concept version of the plug-in hybrid Hornet compact SUV \u2014 GLH for \u201cGo Like Hell.\u201d Loaded to the gills with all of Dodge\u2019s Direct Connection goodies \u2014 including lowered suspension, black hood, dual racing stripes, Track Pack, exhaust amplification, electronic control unit upgrades and more \u2014 the R\/T GLH gives a glimpse at a fully-modified Hornet just like its gas-powered GT GLH Concept sibling, which was unveiled at M1 Concourse last August at the Hornet\u2019s debut.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"gnt_m gnt_x gnt_x__lbl gnt_x__al\" aria-label=\"advertisement\">\n<div id=\"ad-slot-7103-mi-detroit-C1561-native-article_link-money-autos-features_chrysler-2\" class=\"gnt_x_sl gnt_x_al\" data-g-r=\"lazy\" data-gl-method=\"lazyLoadX\"><\/div>\n<\/aside>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Similar to aftermarket parts but installed by approved Dodge Power Broker dealers, the Direct Connection features are covered by the factory\u2019s three-year\/36,000-mile vehicle warranty. Direct Connection offers the only factory-backed performance upgrades in the compact SUV segment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">The $41k Hornet R\/T is already a hatchback hellion without the available Halloween wardrobe. Featuring Dodge\u2019s first plug-in hybrid powertrain, R\/T marries an electric motor turning the rear wheels with a turbocharged, 1.3-liter four-cylinder engine driving the fronts to produce a gob-smacking 383 pound feet of torque \u2014 just shy of the 5.7-liter, V8-fired Dodge Charger R\/T\u2019s 395 pound-feet of torque.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"gnt_m gnt_x gnt_x__lbl gnt_x__al\" aria-label=\"advertisement\">\n<div id=\"ad-slot-7103-mi-detroit-C1561-native-article_link-money-autos-features_chrysler-3\" class=\"gnt_x_sl gnt_x_al\" data-g-r=\"lazy\" data-gl-method=\"lazyLoadX\"><\/div>\n<\/aside>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Starting at 10 grand below the R\/T, the base Hornet GT is stuffed with a 295-torque turbo-4 producing 268 horsepower. That\u2019s best-in-class for a gas engine. Best-in-class is just the starting point for the Brotherhood of Muscle brand. With dual stripes and twin exhaust, the 2024 Dodge Hornet R\/T GLH Concept has looks to match its 383 pound-feet of torque.\" data-c-credit=\"Stellantis, \u00a9 2023 Stellantis\"><\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">The GLH pays homage to the high-performance, mid-1980s Dodge Omni GLH developed with racing legend Caroll Shelby. Expect both GLH models to enter the lineup soon.
