On Wednesday, Michigan film-maker and Occupy Wall Street icon Michael Moore thanked Hurricane Sandy for helping swing the election to President Obama. Now that’s sicko. His words went largely unreported, echoed those of MSNBC commentator Chris Matthews, and attest to a news media that gives a pass to blowhards on the Left.<\/p>\n
“And you, Mother Nature, with all your horrific damage, death and destruction you caused last week, you became, ironically, the undoing of a Party that didn’t believe in you or your climate changing powers,” Moore\u00a0wrote on his blog<\/a>\u00a0about a natural disaster that many political observers credit with slowing Mitt Romney’s momentum in the week before Election Day.<\/p>\n Moore’s insensitive comments – Sandy has brought destruction, misery, and death to the New York metro area – echoed those of MSNC commentator Chris Matthews. And they came in the same week that Gabby Giffords’ shooter was sentenced to life, reminding Americans of hollow Democratic pleas for a new civility in the wake of that horrific assassination attempt a year ago. Moore’s words attest to Democratic hypocrisy – and a news media that gives a pass to blowhards on the Left.<\/p>\n Republicans are not spared controversy, however.<\/p>\n
